Pro-Excel has long been synonymous with ground-breaking innovation in mass movement in UK. Over 20 years ago we pioneered large scale dance on football and rugby pitches at some of the UK’s biggest sporting events, before devising more pitch sensitive models of utilising hard standing areas around the turf for our larger events.
In 2023 as Sports Presentation evolves with massive improved technology in stadia we went a step further and introduced mass crowdography to the UK sports market. In recent years with the introduction of the Megatron screens into UK sport we have been a seismic shift in game day sports presentation, for the first time we have been able to locate in the entertainment in the safety of the stands, allowing better viewing for spectators, better production capabilities in terms of technical and staging, more flexible timings and weather safety!
To date, nobody had attempted mass movement dance in stands – until Pro-Excel was approached to make this happen.
Saracens Rugby Commissioned Pro-Excel and set us the challenge of producing a 1000 strong dance army in the iconic South Stand at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, one of the most hi-tech stadia in the world. Under the guidance of Katja Navaski, we produced 2 epic shows, one based on the theme of ‘London – the last decade’ saw students recall in dance, historical events in the Capital’s history, from The London 2012 Olympics, the journey through the COVID Pandemic, through to the death of HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
This project brought together students from state schools and dance schools from all four corners of the UK, providing a unique opportunity to improve skills in dance, build social cohesion and offer elite pathways for more advanced dancers, with one student actually gaining employment with our own fantastic team. The Saracens project is a wonderful progression model introducing dancers at Key Stage 2 level to the programme and having more challenging and advanced pathway options for KS3 and 4 aged artists.
